Gotta Love Logan and Browns Plains Rotary joined forces to support the much-loved “Movies Under the Wineglass” event in Hillcrest, a family-friendly evening that brought together our wonderful community for a night of fun, laughter, and camaraderie. We had the honor of organising and selling raffle tickets, with all proceeds going towards the next event on November 2nd, which promises to be an exciting Halloween-themed movie night.
A big thank you to Bunnings at Browns Plains for their generous donation of a wheelbarrow filled with tools for the Father’s Day raffle prize. We also extend our gratitude to Pizza Pizza Hillcrest and the Greenbank Services Club for their contributions of two $50 gift vouchers. The raffle was a hit, and the grand prize of the wheelbarrow was won by a lovely young family from Regents Park. Congratulations to them!
We also want to express our heartfelt thanks to DJ Brad for his outstanding work in organising such a great community event. His efforts truly made the evening special. A shout-out to the Browns Plains Blue Light Disco (Police) team as well, who put on a delicious BBQ that everyone enjoyed. It was fantastic to see so many people come out with their chairs and blankets, ready to enjoy the double-feature movies. The movies “Up” and “Next Goal Wins” were screened to an appreciative crowd, with both films providing plenty of entertainment and feel-good moments.
The Bank of Queensland also added to the festive atmosphere by serving free popcorn and fairy floss, much to the delight of everyone in attendance. Our State Member: Linus Power, was also on hand, generously giving away 200 free tickets to the first 200 people who arrived. The kids had an absolute blast on the huge inflatable obstacle course, which was a big hit throughout the evening. It was a wonderful sight to see families and friends coming together, enjoying the simple pleasures of a community event.
We’re already looking forward to the next “Movies Under the Wineglass” event on November 2nd, where the Halloween theme is sure to bring even more excitement and fun.
